Areas Addressed In The Development Patterns
CoordiKindy has been developed to follow the normal developmental patterns of the sensory motor skills and to provide activities and exercises to encourage optimal development and participation in Kindergarten activities. The exercises are grouped in 4 levels over a 30 week period.
Level 1 address sensory processing, including the processing of movement, touch, visual, auditory, smell and taste sensations.
Level 2 address core muscles, balance, locomotion, muscle tone and body awareness.
Level 3 address brain bridging including bilateral movements, the concept of direction, crossing of the midline of the body, rhythm, laterality and oral motor tasks.
Level 4 address laterality including sequences of movement and motor planning.
These 4 levels have been proven to prepare any child for the challenges they face when learning to read, to understand mathematics and to participate in sport.
CoordiKindy provide a proven program with excellent results as used by experienced occupational therapists for the Kindergarten teacher. You can address and prevent possible problems in the children through the use of this program.
You will also be able to identify children in need of extra exercises and those who do not cope according to the expectations their age. The children repeat a set of exercises for 10 days but if you see that the young ones find it difficult, you can repeat these at any time for longer than a fortnight or you can show the exercises to parents to practice at home.
